Discos can be a big source of revenue for any school. For primary schools it is generally best to run two discos – one for the junior school early in the evening, followed by one for higher grades. Charge a reasonable entry fee and make extra money from ancillary sales – glow sticks and LED products, soft drinks or bottled water and some food. High school audiences can be more demanding: get the student leaders involved in planning a theme or music. Parent volunteers are always needed for refreshments, cloak room and security. As a general rule, children do not leave the hall during the disco and must be collected by an adult.
