Our primary school holds two discos a year, and the most recent theme was Emoji. I think it is a brilliant idea for a school disco – did you know there are over 2,800 emojis (I didn’t, I had to look it up). The variety from Poop to Thumbs Up, Princess to Zombie means there will always be something for kids (and adults) to dress up as, no matter how creative (or not) you are.

Here are some great ideas for school discos:

  • Emoji
  • Old Hollywood
  • Decades (ie 60s, 70s, 80s etc)
  • Alice in Wonderland/Mad Hatter
  • Harry Potter/Wizards
  • Fairytales
  • Goths and Cheerleaders
  • Famous couples through time
  • Superhero
  • Movie Characters
  • Heroes and Villains
  • Pirates and Princesses
  • Angels and Demons
  • (What I Will Be) When I Grow Up (good for graduation discos)
