Quick Fundraising Ideas: The 50/50 Raffle

The 50/50 raffle is an easy money earner that takes hardly any time to prepare, has great participation, and can raise a respectable amount of money quickly. Perfect between rounds at a quiz night or at any large event.

This is easiest and more fun if you can find the type of raffle ticket that comes as a roll, but if not, the books are fine.

Decide in advance on a price for tickets for example $1 for one ticket, $5 for six tickets (and if you have the roll of tickets and want some fun, then offer an arm span of tickets for $20 or $30). Check out our other article on tips for selling raffle tickets and maximising raffle ticket sales.

Everyone must be present for the draw so you don’t need to worry about writing names and numbers on tickets – people need to hang onto their ticket stub.

Once all the tickets are sold, count how much money has been raised.

Draw the winning ticket.

Because it is a 50/50 raffle, the winner gets half the cash and the rest goes to the fundraiser.
