The 50/50 raffle is an easy way to earn money, requiring minimal preparation time, high participation, and can quickly raise a respectable amount of money. Perfect between rounds at a quiz night or at any large event.
This is easiest and more fun if you can find the type of raffle ticket that comes as a roll, but if not, the books are fine.
Decide in advance on a price for tickets for example $1 for one ticket, $5 for six tickets (and if you have the roll of tickets and want some fun, then offer an arm span of tickets for $20 or $30).
Everyone must be present for the draw so you don’t need to worry about writing names and numbers on tickets – people need to hang onto their ticket stub.
Once all the tickets are sold, count how much money has been raised.
Draw the winning ticket.
Because it is a 50/50 raffle, the winner gets half the cash and the rest goes to the fundraiser.
One might think that the common raffle was a simple beast. Buy a couple of raffle ticket books at Officeworks and off you go!
Well… not quite.
