No doubt there will be a ‘buzz around town’ for the latest hit movie.
This may be a perfect opportunity to run a movie night fundraiser for the grown-ups. Cinemas will often allow private bookings for fundraising groups and allow a glass of champers or other refreshments to be served on arrival. You are then able to charge a flat ticket rate to earn some valuable fundraising dollars.
If the latest, greatest thing is not your cup of tea, many movies are suitable. Look at the ‘coming soon’ list of movies, and choose one that is likely to be popular.
This fundraiser is great for smaller groups such as kindergartens, single-purpose fundraising (such as raising the entry fee for a fundraising event/ competition) or groups within a school such as a music subcommittee or single year level.
Send home invites (design them free in my favourite online tool canva.com) and also distribute invites via email and social media. Get a ‘bring-a-friend’ thing happening.
As with all event invites, include a ‘Please don’t make me go! (But I’d like to donate something)’ option that allows those who are not interested to still support your fundraiser in a smaller way.
